Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility Center, Department of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility (BIF) was established in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi on September 22, 2006, under BITSnet scheme funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Since its inception, the centre as an additional offshoot of the department has made significant progress through the support of DBT and the available infrastructure including human resources. The objective of the centre is the promotion of biology ‘teaching and research’ through bioinformatics scheme of BITSnet, undertaking exhaustive steps for understanding the deeper structure through computational modeling.
The department offers semester-based courses M.Phil/Ph.D. in computer science and in bioinformatics, M. Sc. Bioinformatics programme in addition to MCA and PGDCA courses through a well-designed, updated, industry-oriented as well as research-oriented curriculum.
