Admission Procedure
Admission is on competitive basis through entrance tests. Please apply by using the application form available at the Jamia Millia Islamia or download it from the Jamia website : http://jmi.nic.in
The entrance exam to all courses is based at 2 levels :
Level 1 :
1½ hr. Test on a) Multiple choice subject specific & general knowledge questions.
Level 2 :
Interview
B.A HONS AND M.A DEGREE COURSES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
B.A. (Hons.) (Political Science) – (40 Seats)
Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent examination with 50% marks in aggregate or 45% marks in Political Science and in aggregate.
Master of Arts (M.A) Political Science – (40 Seats)
Duration: 2 Years
Eligibility: (i) B.A (Hons.) in Political Science with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. /OR
(ii) B.A. with Political science with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. /OR
(iii) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.(Hons.) with not less than 55% in aggregate
(ii) B.A. with Political science with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. /OR
(iii) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.(Hons.) with not less than 55% in aggregate
Master of Arts (M.A) Public Administration – (40 Seats)
Duration: 2 Years
Eligibility: Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent institution with 50% marks in aggregate.
Master of Arts (M.A) Human Rights and Duties Education – (20 Seats)
Duration: 2 Years
Eligibility: Degree from a recognized University or an equivalent institution with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to students holding Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights and Duties Education.
Note :
In all the courses 15% seats may be filled as supernumerary seats. Any foreign student shall be eligible for admission against these seats. There will be no written test or interview for admission under this category. However candidates shall have to fulfill minimum eligibility conditions for admission.
