Faculty of the department is actively involved in research in emerging areas resulting in publications in national and international journals. Major areas of research include offshore structures, environmental engineering, earthquake engineering, and climate change impacts on water resources. The Department has academic and research collaboration with University of Erfurt, Germany and is in the process of establishing research collaboration with University of Waterloo in Canada and University of Edinburgh in UK besides having linkages with major industries. Each year, six to eight students of the department, accompanied by two faculty members, visit University of Erfurt in Germany under the student exchange program. Prof. Khalid Moin is the coordinator of the student-exchange, and delivers lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Erfurt, Germany. In exchange,professors from Erfurt teaches our students.
